The Lipothrombo AG compression stockings are anti-embolism stockings that reach up to the thighs and apply moderate pressure. This compression helps prevent blood clots and stimulates blood circulation to the heart. The stockings are suitable for both men and women and reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Anti-embolism stockings increase safety during surgical procedures.
DVT: Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is the formation of blood clots in the deep veins, usually in the legs. Patients confined to a hospital bed have reduced blood flow to the legs and therefore an increased risk of blood clots. If a blood clot breaks loose and reaches the lungs, it can lead to a dangerous pulmonary embolism, which can be fatal.

Please take into account the advice to order two different sizes. You are advised to order one garment in your size and one smaller than your current size. This is because you will swell immediately after the treatment, causing your ready-to-wear size to increase. During the healing process, the fluid decreases, reducing your size.
The worn clothing will be too loose, resulting in less compression. This reduces its effectiveness. Wearing a smaller garment at that time will again provide you with compression in the correct zones.
